We Won Best Float at the West Linn Old Time Parade!

A few months ago, we decided to try something new; we wanted to have a float in a parade. Everyone asked us when we would have the time to put one together, and all we knew was that we would figure it out. It took some long evenings, but we had a vision and a dream. A dream of the 90s.... A time when things seemed simpler, sillier, and fun.

We came up with a tagline: "If you remember the 90s, it's time for a will and trust."

Fun, right?

Then, came the float. It needed peace signs, it needed "talk to the hand", aliens, and bling. We made water bottles into Zima bottles, and we got a bubble machine. We made a playlist of '90s hits. We got airheads and ChupaChup candies to throw, and we went to the Lake Oswego Fourth of July Parade ready.

The float was a hit. People yelled, "I love the 90s!", "Your float is great!", and "It hurts because it's true!" We danced down the street and eventually ran out of candy because it was such a huge event.

After that, we made repairs, bought a lot more candy, and prepared for the West Linn Old Time Fair Parade. We didn't know that there would be a float competition until the night before, but we felt ready. We were proud of our float, and whether we won or lost, we knew it would be a fun time.

As the judges came by our bubble machine, the music wasn't working. We asked for a minute and frantically struggled to get the music back. (The bubble machine was easy, technology never is.)

They had to come back. Multiple judges came by, and each time we had to get everything going again. But, just as we were getting ready to start the parade, they came by and presented us with the "Best Float" Award, and we were thrilled.

WE WON!!! Now, we have to figure out how to one-up this next year. Any ideas?
